A statement from the family of the Sudanese Eng. Abdul Basit Hamza Al-Hassan, who has been in Sudan prison for more than a year without trials.

🔴1- Engineer Abdul Baset Hamza was arrested on 4/16/2019 from his home, where he returned to the country on 4/14/2029 , on the basis of a business trip abroad.
🔴2- He was not interrogated or held accountable for five months of detention.
🔴3- After the sixth month, reports were opened in the Cabinet of the Attorney General. and the investigation were conducted by Mr. Al-Tahir Abdul Rahman Muhammad, and Mrs. Ghada Ali Ahmed, and the investigation was completed and the prosecution recommended his release with a regular guarantee On 7/28/2019 ...
🔴4- The Prison Administration did not respond to the prosecution’s decision on the pretext of the reservation issued by the Military Council .. A new Attorney General was appointed and he in turn canceled all decisions issued by the former Attorney General.
🔴5- Eng. Abd al-Basit remained imprisoned until 12/12/2019, where an arrest warrant was issued again from Attorney General and was investigated with him for two months, during which Abd al-Basit clarified all the sources of his property and its legitimacy. He was released with a regular guarantee on 01/20/2020, and the prison administration did not respond to his release.
🔴6- Eng. Abd al-Basit was again handed over to the Attorney General to return to the investigation as directed by the Attorney General Mr. Taj al-Sir and he was released by Mrs. Ghada Ali.
🔴7- Then he was handed over to the Anti-Corruption Prosecution, where the prosecutor, Mr. Muhammad Othman, and the Prosecutor, Mr. Muhalab, investigated with him on the same charges in addition to investigating him in the communications After the investigation, a committee was formed by the Public Prosecutor headed by the head of the corruption prosecution, Mr. Hadi Makkawi, to take the final decision. The Commission, as its chair said, recommended that the regular guarantee be released after the accused's property was seized. After the Chairman of the Committee met with the Attorney General, the lawyer was surprisled that the release of the accused necessitated the payment of a financial guarantee of 83,000,000 euros (eighty three million euros).
🔴8- This decision was issued on 4/20/2020 as the accused completed his first year in prison.
🔴9-The lawyer rejected the decision to release the exorbitant financial guarantee, and the lawyer submitted a request to refer the case file to the court due to his full knowledge that the file in the court will not take more than one session to decide on it.
🔴10- After that, the Attorney General offered a compromise and settlement for his release, but Eng. Abdel Baset refused to give up one pound for his ability to justify the sources of his money in the court, and then we were surprised by the transfer of everything related to the communications to the Empowerment Committee, which in turn issued a decision to confiscate all his property.
🔴11- Now Eng. Abd al-Basit Hamza is arrested in violation of the constitution and international conventions, and his right to a fair trial has been wasted.
